Lay Down, Sweet Death

Lay down, sweet death, lay down.

Put away your decaying cowl

Set aside your rusted scythe

Pull away the whole world’s sight

of seeing you run each day

Taking souls along their way

Take some time, no need to rush,

But a vacation is a must

Let it be for just one day

That not a person passes away

And though we know you must return

Let that be when the world must burn

So lay down, sweet death

And let us all have one day of rest.
